Memphis, Tennessee – Campaign for School Equity’s executive director Mendell Grinter released the following statement in response to the City of Memphis announcement that it will commit $6 million in funds towards pre-k.
“Campaign for School Equity applauds the city’s efforts to invest and support quality pre-K for students most in need. While this is a great first step, we must acknowledge that even more must be done to support our students as they move through K-12. As a key driver of development, and economic opportunity, we look forward to the day when the city makes even more of an investment into education for all Memphis students.
